Nicholas Pocock (1740-1821) - 'View of Clifton Hill from the Sea Banks' (1781), watercolour, monogrammed and dated lower right, mount aperture: 32.2 x 49.5 cm, frame dimensions: 57.5 x 75.5 cm. Together with a letter from the Bristol Museum & Art Gallery curator Francis Greenacre to David Cross requesting for this painting (amongst others in their collection) be loaned to the museum for an exhibition titled 'Nicholas Pocock and Joseph Walter: Bristol's Marine Artists'. A copy of the catalogue for this exhibition with this painting included is attached verso. Provenance: from a private collection.
