Attributed to Michel Jean Cazabon (1813-1888) - A cocoa picker and other figures in a bamboo forest clearing, Trinidad, watercolour on paper, sheet: 31 x 22 cm, mounted onto board, frame: 44 x 54 cm, glazed. From a local private collection. We believe this to be an original work by Cazabon; however, in the absence of a signature and supporting provenance, it is catalogued as attributed to the artist.
Yellowing/discolouration to the paper, with large spots of foxing across the sheet. There is one hole to the paper in the top right corner, approx. 5mm in length and has been coloured in with black pigment. There are another smaller hole to the lower left edge of the mount, also coloured in, and two spots to the lower left of dark blue paint.
