A good William IV mahogany writing slope, with brass banded borders and corners, flanked with flush-fitting handles, the hinged lid with central inlaid brass cartouche inscribed ‘Miss J.A. Railey, September 1833' and 'Austin Maker’, 15.5cm high, 45 x 45 cm
It is a Bramah lock, although original key not present. The leather is broken at the hinged join, otherwise only cosmetic blemishes commensurate with age.
