1. FOR SALE
A great deal of our working time is spent visiting clients who are considering disposing of items and simply want advice on what they have, the value, and how this can be achieved. It may be you have inherited furniture or are perhaps moving to a smaller house. Whatever the situation we are pleased to call and discuss the possibilities, leaving you to consider the matter further : these visits are free and without obligation to you.
2. INSURANCE
We undertake written insurance valuations - from single items to entire house contents. The service can be tailored to your individual needs, for instance, we can value the antique / collectable element allowing you to calculate the cost of the general domestic effects. Fees are agreed beforehand based on the time taken - not on a percentage basis, which we have always felt to be unfair to the client, who will be unaware of the fee until the final insurance figure is known.
3. PROBATE
We have many years experience in undertaking these valuations for Executors who can find this a difficult and emotional time - this work has become something of a speciality. Our fees are very realistic and payment is never expected until funds are available from the Estate. If appropriate, at a later date, we are always delighted to co-ordinate the removal and sale of any unwanted effects and can arrange for the clearance of unsaleable effects, leaving the property in a tidy state.
4. FAMILY DIVISION
Sometimes it is necessary to place values on family items which will not be sold but divided amongst family members - this we can do, and again fees are agreed prior to commencing the work.
