Glossary of Terms & Conditions

The Auctioneers for themselves and for the Vendors of each lot give notice to intending Purchases that certain items used in the descriptions of goods contained in this catalogue, have the meanings described to them in the Glossary below.

1. Gold and Silver
Articles - Foreign or English - which do not appear to carry a hallmark but which would have been described as gold or silver prior to restrictions imposed by the Hallmark Act 1973, are now described as gold or silver coloured metal or white metal, as appropriate.

2. Books and Other Printed Material
These are not sold subject to collation and intending purchasers should satisfy themselves as to completeness or otherwise, as they are sold as viewed and are not returnable.

3. Pictures, Bronzes etc.
Lots described as signed by and/or catalogued by reference to the forename(s) and surname are in our opinion, the work of the particular artist.
Any other descriptions are given without warranty or guarantee and imply purchasers must act on their own judgment of such other lots.
