PHILIP TAUBENHEIM
Philip has spent virtually all his life in the antiques business, growing
up with parents who successfully ran an Antiquarian bookshop in Burford,
Oxfordshire, for over 25 years. On leaving school he joined a firm of
general practice land agents but soon di scovered
his true vocation to be amongst chattels in the Auction Department, progressing
to Wotton under Edge in 1983 to run the Auction Rooms for Luce Panes,
who were subsequently bought out by the Nationwide Building Society. In
turn, in 1992 he and two other former partners bought the Fine Arts Division
from them. Now Chairman of the Company, the business has expanded greatly
but without losing the approach on which it was built. Philip has been
a regular contributor to the BBC Antiques Roadshow, has appeared on Going
for a Song, has been a lecturer on the Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, as well
as undertaking many evening talks and charity sales for fund raising organisations
throughout the area.
MARK
BOWMAN
Mark
Bowman joined Sandoe Luce Panes from school in 1982 as a Juni or
on the Youth Opportunities Programme. Mark enjoys the logistics of helping
run an expanding business and, with Philip, they have taken Wotton Auction
Rooms to its now independently owned state. Mark is the Director in charge
of Finance and Accounts, but continues to have a "hands on" approach in
the day to day running of the Saleroom. Marks interests are cooking and
wine. He enjoys most sports and is a regular racegoer.
